Why a significant part of the current JoJo 5 (Vento Aureo/Golden Wind) scanlations suck.
They were done from the Chinese edition so we already have JP -> CN -> EN, which is always a recipe for disaster. (English-language JoJo fans, this is why we have DUWANG. For everybody else, Hong Kong bootleg sub anime DVDs. You probably bought one when you were a n00b.)
Also, there’s some relatively significant problems throughout the series with some of the translators deciding to randomly MAKE SHIT UP to make everything more badass and gangster, which ends up ruining a lot of the text-heavy comedy.
I still love JoJo 5, but the only characters whose personalities survived the current English scans intact are Mista and Narancia. Everybody else got bungled to at least some degree. Giorno got it the worst. If you read a proper translation, he ISN’T boring.
JoJo Project, the group that’s scanlating Steel Ball Run right now, is going to split off after SBR is done (and I happen to know how fast they’re going and trust me, it isn’t as long as you think it is) and work on both the part 4 retranslation project and a complete rescanning and retranslation of part 5. I, for one, cannot WAIT to read one of my very favorite arcs with better translation and better image quality.
How far did this get? I can only find the first three volumes translated (Sex Pistols Appear 2 is the last chapter in that volume).
All I got from the latest episode is that Shiro is a pro and Sora is a camper.
this brand seems more reputable
did i tell you about that one time when i had a conversation with myself so that i wouldn’t end up losing my voice from never talking out loud
ha ha never mind that was all the time !!
My roommate passed by once and asked me who I was talking with…
I never realized what a big deal that was. How amazing it is to find someone who wants to hear about all the things that go on in your head. — Nina LaCour (via cinnym0n)

Dio and Jonathan are contestants on Wheel of Fortune
It’s Jonathan’s turn to spin, and he lands on $1000
So he buys a vowel, and some panels light up
The audience claps and Dio says:
GOOD BUY, JOJO!
